Panel Responds to Data on Downtown Kalamazoo & WMU Students
April 15, 2008 - City Commissioner David Anderson joined other Kalamazoo civic and business leaders on WMU's campus as School of Communication students shared data from interviews, focus groups, and more than 800 surveys collected on campus to gauge student impressions and interests in downtown Kalamazoo. Attendees made notes, asked questions, and engaged in conversation with the class before, during, and after the presentation. "I thought it was the most informative description of WMU student demographics and desires related to downtown I have heard," David said afterwards. "I'm hoping some components of the study are taken to heart by downtown decision makers."

David participates in an invited panel convened at the Clifford Center in Brown Hall to learn about WMU student attitudes towards downtown Kalamazoo. Commissioner Anderson engages presenters in a conversation about how to attract more students to the center city for shopping, dining, and recreation.
